Why an Assassin's Creed Mirage Trailer is Likely to Release on December 21
Assassin's Creed Mirage, billed as a return-to-form action-adventure title with an emphasis on assassinations and parkour, is set to release sometime in 2023, but fans haven't heard much since the Ubisoft Forward. As the year comes to an end, many may be wondering when/if they'll learn more, especially since there are a few indications Assassin's Creed Mirage will release early in 2023. Nothing has been confirmed yet, but there are at least two reasons to think December 21 could hold some secrets.
Assassin's Creed Mirage will see fans step into the shoes of a younger Basim as he enters the Hidden Ones, seeking to understand the dark visions that haunt him. Everything revealed so far has fans excited for this title, but it's just the one on the immediate horizon. Assassin's Creed Red, Hexe, Jade, and many more are also in the works, meaning it's looking like fans will be eating well in the coming years.

Assassin's Creed Mirage: December 21
The first reason is that Assassin's Creed Valhalla recently released its Last Chapter DLC, and while it tries to wrap up a few storylines, many feel left with more questions than answers. The general structure of it is pretty weak too, but the important detail here is that Eivor meets Roshan to take on a common enemy. Roshan is quite older here, but fans will see her younger self in Assassin's Creed Mirage, where she is Basim's mentor. Indeed, there is perhaps a bigger focus on Basim in the Last Chapter DLC than there ought to be, but the point is that this is Assassin's Creed Mirage content. Ubisoft would be wise to follow it up with a showcase of next game, and that's where December 21 specifically comes to play.
Beyond the Assassin's Creed Mirage-Valhalla crossover setting the stage, December 21 is already the perfect day—known within the community as Assassin's Creed Day. This is the day Desmond sacrificed himself, becoming The Reader in Assassin's Creed Valhalla, and save the world from a solar flare. It's the perfect day to celebrate the franchise with fans by giving them some snippets of the game. What form or when is questionable, but nonetheless, it seems like a safe bet to expect something on December 21.
There is one caveat, here: The Game Awards take place on December 8, where there will be a number of world premieres. Assassin's Creed Mirage would be good to show here on a shared stage, which may be preferred, but if it wants to stand out (as it should), then December 21 gives it time to focus on itself as the studio moves to take a holiday break. It could then come back in 2023 on a high note, with fan anticipation even higher than before. If it does release a trailer for either event, then it's not impossible fans learn of Assassin's Creed Mirage's release date, but fans should be patient for the time being.
Assassin's Creed Mirage releases in 2023 for Luna, PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X.
