YouTube was down, videos were not loading or playing, and people did not take it well

An apparent outage hit YouTube Wednesday night, Downdetector and several news outlets have reported.

Technology news outlet Endgadget reported the outage around 7:30 p.m. ET Wednesday. 

The site's Twitter account acknowledged the outage.

"If you’re having trouble watching videos on YouTube right now, you’re not alone – our team is aware of the issue and working on a fix. We’ll follow up here with any updates," they tweeted at 7:23 p.m. ET. 

The issues were resolved around 9:15 p.m. ET. 

YouTube users quickly noticed the outage and took to social media to express their displeasure. 

#YouTubeDOWN quickly becomes Twitter rallying cry

According to Endgadget, the YouTube TV premium streaming service also appeared to be affected.
