Two landscapers were struck by a pickup truck that left the road Thursday afternoon in Camp Springs, Maryland.

Investigators say both women were taken to the hospital where one died and another is in critical condition.  The driver of the pickup truck stayed at the scene of the accident and is cooperating with police.

According to police, the landscapers were working on the shrubby at an Exxon when the driver of the truck left the roadway for unknown reasons and hit the victims at the corner of Old Branch Avenue and Allentown Road.

Allentown Road from Old Branch Avenue to Branch Avenue (Rte. 5) was closed in both directions due to the accident.
