SEATTLE, WA — In a press conference Friday night, Washington state health officials announced two patients have returned "presumptively positive" test results for COVID-19, a new strain of coronavirus linked to China.

State health officials said both cases are pending confirmation from the Centers of Disease Control and Prevention.
Health officials the tests were conducted at the Public Health Laboratory in Shoreline and are pending confirmation from the Centers for Disease and Prevention.
A Snohomish County case was identified in a teenage boy who is a student at Jackson High School in Mill Creek. Health officials said the student had not traveled overseas and was it was not immediately clear how he was infected.
Health officials said the student's last day attending classes was before exhibiting symptoms, but the school will be closed Monday to allow for a "deep cleaning.'
In King County, public health officials said a woman in her 50s tested positive after returning from travel in South Korea recently. She returned to Seattle and went to work Tuesday and began to notice symptoms at the end of the workday.
