The coronavirus death toll in Alabama is nearing 400.

The Alabama Department of Public Health’s May 10 9:30 a.m. numbers show 9,692 coronavirus cases in the state, an increase of 620 since Friday. The death toll is now 393, up 24 since Friday.

The greatest numbers of deaths are in Mobile County (85); Jefferson County (60); Tallapoosa County (42); Lee County (30: and Chambers County (21). Three other counties have death tolls in double digits: Shelby (17); Montgomery (15); and Etowah (10).

Slightly more than 50 percent of all growth in new cases comes from six counties: Mobile (+96); Montgomery (+61); Marshall (+56); Jefferson (+43); Franklin (+32); and Butler (+23).
