At least 49 service members around the world have tested positive for coronavirus so far, the Pentagon confirmed Wednesday.

That’s a jump from 36 cases on Tuesday.

Within the Department of Defense, 14 civilians, 19 dependents and seven contractors have also been diagnosed, officials said.

The military has shut down almost all travel, both domestic and international, for service members as COVID-19 cases explode globally.

More than 200,000 people have been diagnosed worldwide and at least 8,000 have died.

The DoD has also canceled or postponed military exercises and turned away families from graduation ceremonies.

West Point has sent students home and told them not to return after spring break and the Air Force Academy in Colorado has also dismissed its students with no word of a return date.
