Austin Resident Among Those Killed In Small Airplane Crash

AUSTIN, TX — An Austin resident was among those killed after a small plane crashed near San Antonio over the weekend, according to reports.

KVUE on Tuesday reported that the Bexar County Medical Examiner's Office identified Robert Tyson Womble, 38, as among the three who died after the small aircraft crashed near the San Antonio airport on Sunday evening. Womble owned a home in Central East Austin near Berkman Drive and Highway 290, the news station reported.

The identities of the others who perished in the crash have not been released. Friends of one of the victims have identified Eric Naranjo, 22, as one of the victims. The Sugar Land, Texas, native was a student at the University of Texas at San Antonio. An unidentified 71-year-old woman also died in the crash, according to the news station.

The single-engine aircraft carrying the three crash victims was flying from Sugar Land headed to the town of Boerne on the outskirts of San Antonio before it crashed just before 6:30 p.m., as multiple media outlets reported.
