LONGVIEW, Texas (KLTV) - The Longview Fire Department had an unusual hazmat cleanup today: Hypodermic needles.

LFD responded to the 100 block of Gilmer Road near Highway 80 for a report of syringes, with needles on the roadway around 2pm. They shut down northbound Gilmer to pick them up. LFD says a container of sharps was on the road and someone ran over it. When they discovered what it was they called it in. Needles were found on the road and in adjacent yard. They had it cleaned up in about 20 minutes.
