Damage reported along Alabama, Florida coastline after Hurricane Sally landfall

Hurricane Sally's eye made landfall around 4:45 a.m., slamming Gulf Shores, Alabama as a Category 2 hurricane, according to the National Hurricane Center. 

The storm has knocked out power for thousands in Florida and Alabama, creating flash flooding and reaching maximum sustained winds of 105 mph.

President Donald Trump has approved federal emergency aid for 13 Florida counties impacted by Hurricane Sally as homes, buildings and businesses throughout impacted towns sustain significant damage.
