Drive-thru vaccine, flu shots offered

IDEA Public Schools has partnered with Walgreens to host a free COVID-19 vaccine (including boosters) and flu shot clinic beginning at 5:30 p.m. Wednesday at its Pflugerville campus at 1901 E. Wells Branch Parkway.

The drive-through “Trunk or Treat” clinic is free and open to the public. The clinic will offer the first or second dose to anyone ages 12 and older. Treats will be handed out to children, including a prize for the most spirited Halloween themed car.

Haunted Trail, car show set 

The Bee Cave Library has announced two events this week. 

A Haunted Trail will take place at 5:30 p.m. Friday at the Bee Cave trail system, with parking at Target and the trail starting behind Chik-Fil-A. An official ribbon cutting will take place with the mayor and other city leaders, candy will be handed out along the trail and a story walk will be set up. 

The Rolling Sculpture Car Show will run from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Sunday at the Hill Country Galleria, 12700 Hill Country Blvd. The show will feature collector cars, sports and exotics, modern classics, hot rods and art cars. Live music, photo opportunities and dozens of trophies will be featured. The show will benefit the Friends of the Bee Cave Public Library.

The Austin Parks and Recreation Department's "Our Parks, Our Future Long Range Plan" has received a Public Outreach Award from the American Planning Association Texas Chapter.
