School hasn't even started yet for the 2022-2023 academic year, and some school boards are already causing anti-American havoc. In North Dakota, the Fargo board of education voted to stop reciting the Pledge of Allegiance before board meetings, Fox News reported. The reason? Because the pledge contains the word "God."

The board's vice president, Seth Holden, claimed that reciting the Pledge of Allegiance went against the school board's philosophy of inclusion because it referenced the Judeo-Christian deity, which, he said, made the pledge a "non-inclusionary act."

"Given that the word 'God' in the text of the Pledge of Allegiance is capitalized … the text is clearly referring to the Judeo-Christian God," Holden said. "Therefore, it does not include any other faiths such as Islam, Buddhism, Hinduism."

The crux of Holden's objection was predicated on his opinion on two things: a lack of diversity in the pledge itself and the verisimilitude of everyone in the country possessing liberty and justice. This is how fanatical the Left has become in this country — it has a cultlike devotion to the left-wing ideas of diversity, equity, and inclusion that supersedes patriotism and any semblance of common sense.

"The statement that we are 'one nation under God,' is the Judeo-Christian God … is simply an untrue statement," Holden said. "We are one nation under many or no gods."

Most egregiously, Holden declared that, since not all people in the United States have liberty and justice, the pledge is a falsehood that violates the school board's policy of prioritizing honesty. This is his opinion, mind you, but Holden passes it off as fact. In the Left's political bubble, they believe it is true. And in that sense, even they believe that the nation is under one god — the god of diversity, equity, and inclusion.

Holden's misguided opinions have no bearing on the virtues and credibility of the Pledge of Allegiance. The board should not let one radically indoctrinated board member devalue patriotism and dictate policy regarding the Pledge of Allegiance. Holden represents everything wrong with our country's education system.

If this is occurring in board meetings, then it is surely occurring in the classroom. Decades of left-wing brainwashing have convinced educators and administrators they are more compassionate and enlightened than everyone. As such, they support teaching students to devalue our country's core tenets of liberty, instead brainwashing them to believe in the ideals that comprise diversity, equity, and inclusion. It's disgraceful, yet it is another example of how much damage the radical Left has already done to our country.
