Flood Defenders announced Wednesday the launch of its "Capture the Moment" campaign that it says will highlight the devastating impact flooding has had on the region.

The non-profit says this is an effort fighting for flood victims and communities at risk.

Flood Defenders has partnered with the Escambia County Long Term Recovery Group (LTRG), United Way of West Florida and the Be Ready Alliance Coordinating for Emergencies (BRACE) to deliver relief to families impacted by flooding, highlight the effects of flooding and demonstrate the urgent need to have better flood protection in place to mitigate the damage from the next flooding event.

The campaign, which will collect videos of the real-lift impact flooding has on residents, is aimed at immediately delivering relief to people in need through a charitable donation, as well as demonstrating the immense need for flooding to be addressed in a holistic manner by having a flood plan in place that will protect lives, livelihoods and property.

People can submit videos and photos here.

Flood Defenders has made an initial $25,000 donation to the Escambia County LTRG in order to provide immediate relief to families impacted by flooding, and, when the goal of collecting 500 videos has been met, Flood Defenders will make an additional $15,000 donation to the Escambia County LTRG and a $10,000 to BRACE to support outreach initiatives to connect with Hurricane Sally survivors.
