Gas leak briefly closes Highway 30 in St. Helens

ST. HELENS, Ore. – A gas leak prompted first responders to briefly close Highway 30 on Wednesday in St. Helens.

Columbia River Fire reported the closure at about 11:45 a.m. near the Millard Street intersection.

The highway was back open by about 12:15 p.m.

Initial reports say someone hit a gas main at the intersection. NW Natural is on-scene assessing the situation and working to cap the pipes.
