Fire officials told WMUR News 9, WCVB's sister station in Manchester, that the fallen tree left the girl trapped between a snowbank and a vehicle on Kilrea Road.
Derry firefighters and police officers used chainsaws, shovels and their bare hands in order to reach the girl and stabilize the tree. The fire department said it took 19 minutes for 16 firefighters and three police officers to get the child out from underneath the tree.
The girl was found to be in good spirits and suffered minor injuries. She was transported to a nearby hospital.
No other civilians were injured during the incident. No firefighters were injured during the rescue operation.
The nor'easter brought heavy, wet snow to New England, which took down trees and power lines across New Hampshire.
