Business U.S. 60 (West Pine Blvd.) will be reduced to one lane with a 12-foot width restriction as contractor crews perform roadside work. Weather permitting, crews will be working on Monday, Feb. 1 through Friday, Oct. 1 from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. daily.

Cape Girardeau County

The City of Cape Girardeau says to expect intermittent lane and road closures on North West End Boulevard between Normal and Dunklin Streets starting on Monday, Jan. 11. Work could take up to two weeks, depending on weather. Detours will be posted.

Starting Monday Jan. 4 portions of Good Hope Street between Kingshighway and Spring Street in Cape Girardeau will be closed for the Good Hope Street Stormwater Improvements Project. The first closure will be between Kingshighway and Christine Street. Businesses will remain open and accessible.

South Old Orchard Road in Jackson will be closed south of the Bainbridge Road intersection, near the bridge over Williams Creek, beginning Monday, Jan. 4. Eastbound traffic on East Main Street will detour to LaSalle Avenue, then south on Veterans Memorial Drive, then south on County Road 306, to South Old Orchard Road. Northbound traffic on South Old Orchard Road will use the same path in reverse. Residents will have access to their property. The closure will allow crews to install new sanitary sewer pipe. Weather pending, the project is expected to be completed in three weeks.

Route CC in Cape Girardeau County will be reduced to one lane with a 10-foot width restriction as Missouri Department of Transportation crews perform drainage repairs. This section of roadway is located from County Road 525 to County Road 535. Weather permitting, work will take place Wednesday, Jan. 13 through Friday, Jan. 15 from 7:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. daily.

Iron County

Beginning Friday, March 15 the bridge on N. Main St. in Ironton which goes over Knob Creek will be closed indefinitely.

Franklin County

Beginning Monday, June 22, there will be road construction activity on IL 14 from the Hamilton/Franklin County Line near Macedonia to west of the Ewing Road due to mine subsidence. Contractor personnel will be onsite making temporary repairs to the roadway and permanent repairs will be ongoing throughout the completion of the mine subsidence which is scheduled to be completed in 2021. Motorists will encounter uneven pavement and bumps throughout the duration of the subsidence. Traffic will be reduced to one lane in each direction and controlled by flaggers intermittently throughout the work zone. Message boards and signs will be in place to alert the motoring public of any change in road conditions. Motorists should reduce speed, be alert to equipment and workers and use extreme caution while traveling through the work zone. To avoid any delays motorists should seek an alternate route.

Jackson County

Old Rte. 13 between Carbondale and Murphysboro will be reduced to one lane beginning Monday, Jan. 11 for bridge repair work. Temporary traffic signals will be in place. To avoid any delays, drivers are asked to find an alternate route. Weather permitting, work is expected to last about a month.

The final stage of construction of the Chautauqua McLafferty Roundabout will begin on Monday, December 28. Chautauqua Road will close at 7 a.m., and detours signs will be in place. Chautauqua Road will be closed at the intersection with McLafferty Road until construction is complete.

Williamson County

IDOT says starting on Monday night, Oct. 5, weather permitting, there will be construction on I-57 from Old Illinois 13 in Marion (exit 53) to Johnston City (exit 59) that will require lane closures starting at 7 p.m. The contractor will work nightly from 7 p.m. to 7 a.m. Work includes pavement patching, pavement removal and replacement at underpasses, milling, resurfacing and pavement markings. Work is expected to be finished in July 2021.

Graves County

KYTC and Graves Co. Road Dept. closed Martin Road at the Obion Creek Branch Bridge on Friday, April 3. It was closed after an inspection found additional deterioration of the bridge substructure. Martin Road (County Road 1214) runs between KY 303 and KY 83 just south of the Cuba community. The bridge is near the south end of Martin Road at mile point 0.5. The bridge is closed until further notice. This will likely be a long-term closure.

Marshall County

A KYTC contractor is planning asphalt paving along the U.S. 641 work zone in downtown Benton starting on Friday, Nov. 13. This work zone runs from mile point 7.89 near the Town Creek Bridge extending northward through downtown Benton to mile point 8.824 at all KY 348/5th Street intersection, a distance of about 8/10ths of a mile. It includes all of the one-way sections along Main Street and Poplar Street in Benton. The contractor will try to maintain entrances and access for businesses and homes along the work zone. However, entrance closures will be required during the paving process. The crew will be working during daylight hours along about a 4-5 block section of the work zone at a time. There will be no on-street parking in the downtown area while milling and paving crews are active. The paving of base courses of asphalt along the entire work zone is expected to take about two weeks to finish. The target completion date for all work on the project is June 1, 2021.

McCracken County

The City of Paducah says a portion of Bridge Street will be temporarily closed on Tuesday, January 19. This is for installation of a new watermain crossing the road as part of the Bridge St. South Water Main Replacement Project. Bridge St. will be closed from Husbands Rd. to Koerner St. Local access to residents will be maintained throughout construction. Through-traffic will be required to use alternate routes. Work is anticipated to start at 6 a.m. and is expected to last until early evening or until work is completed.

One westbound lane of I-24 at the 9 mile marker, near the KY 994/Old Mayfield Road overpass, will be restricted to one lane beginning Monday, Jan. 11. The daytime restriction is to all crews to cut brush. Crews will work down the westbound exit ramp to U.S. 45 at the Exit 7 interchange, then along the westbound connector road to U.S. 62. The brush cutting crew will eventually work down the Exit 7 westbound entry ramp where the work zone will resume along the main line of I-24 westbound. This brush cutting project will continue to move westward over several weeks until it reaches the I-24 Ohio River Bridge. The work zone will then move to the eastbound lanes.
