Missouri

Dunklin County

Route 412 will be reduced as contractor crews overlay the road. This section of road is located between Route W and Country Club Drive in Kennett. Weather permitting, crews will be working on Monday, Aug. 31 through Sunday, Nov. 1 from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily. The route will be open to local traffic only.

Dunklin/Stoddard Counties

Route 153 will be reduced with a 10.5-foot width restriction as contractor crews overlay the road. This section of road is located between Route 60 in Stoddard County to Route 25 in Dunklin County. Weather permitting, crews will be working on Monday, Aug. 17 through Sunday, Nov. 1 from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily.

Iron County

Beginning Friday, March 15 the bridge on N. Main St. in Ironton which goes over Knob Creek will be closed indefinitely.

Jefferson County

Southbound I-55 in Jefferson and Ste. Genevieve Counties will be reduced with a 14-foot width restriction as contractor crews overlay the road. This section of road is located between mile marker 165 near Danby and mile marker 143 at Ozora. Weather permitting, crews will be working on Monday, August 31 through Sunday, November 1 from 6 a.m. to 9 p.m. daily.

New Madrid County

Contractor crews will soon begin working to improve westbound U.S. Route 60 in New Madrid and Stoddard Counties. The project includes bridge and pavement repairs from Route 61 in Sikeston to Route WW in Dudley. Weather permitting, crews will be working on Tuesday, April 14 through Friday, October 30, including overnight. Improvements will be completed in various locations on Route 60 and drivers should anticipate a lane reduction with a 12-foot width restriction within each work zone.

Perry County

The Chester bridge located on Route 51 in Perry County will be reduced to one lane with a 10-foot width restriction beginning Tuesday, Oct. 20 through Thursday, Oct. 22 from 7:30 a.m. to 6 p.m., daily. Crews will be making repairs.

The Route 51 overpass over Interstate 55 will be reduced to one lane with a 10-foot width restriction as contractor crews complete bridge repairs. Temporary signals will be in place to guide traffic through the work zone. This section of road is located at Exit 129 in Perryville. The on and off ramps will remain open. I-55 traffic below the overpass will not be impacted. Weather permitting, crews will be working on Tuesday, Oct. 6 through Sunday, Nov. 15.

The Route B overpass over Interstate 55 will be reduced with a 10-foot width restriction as contractor crews complete bridge repairs. This section of road is located at Exit 123 near Perryville. The on and off ramps will remain open. Weather permitting, crews will be working Monday, Oct. 5 with completion anticipated Sunday, Nov. 15. Work will be completed under one -lane traffic across the bridge using temporary signs.

Route B will be reduced with a 9-foot width restriction as contractor crews widen the shoulder and repave the roadway. This section of road is located from National Guard Drive to the Cape Girardeau County line. Weather permitting, crews will be working on Monday, April 13 to Sunday, Nov. 1 from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily.

PCR 616 will be closed, as of Wednesday, Sept. 23, for about two months for bridge replacement.

Stoddard County

Route T will be closed as MoDOT crews replace a culvert pipe under the road. This section of road is located between Missouri Route 51 and County Road 295. Weather permitting, crews will be working on Tuesday, Oct. 27 from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Route Z will be reduced to one lane as MoDOT crews perform pavement repairs. This section of road is located between Route 25 and Route 153. Weather permitting, crews will be working on Wednesday, Oct. 21 through Thursday, Oct. 22 from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. daily.

Ste. Genevieve County

Southbound I-55 in Jefferson and Ste. Genevieve Counties will be reduced with a 14-foot width restriction as contractor crews overlay the road. This section of road is located between mile marker 165 near Danby and mile marker 143 at Ozora. Weather permitting, crews will be working on Monday, August 31 through Sunday, November 1 from 6 a.m. to 9 p.m. daily.

St. Louis County

MoDOT will close one westbound lane of I-44 between I-270 and Bowles for Meramec River Bridge construction. Starting at 7 p.m. on Monday, Oct. 1, the right lane on westbound I-44 will be closed just after the ramp to I-270. It will stay closed around the clock for the next three years as part of the on-going construction project. Access from Watson Road (Route 366), as well as northbound and southbound I-270, to westbound I-44 will shift, but will not change during this portion of the project. Drivers will also still be able to access the Soccer Park exit from westbound I-44. Drivers should expect greater congestion, especially during the evening rush period, in this area. The three-year project replaces the westbound and eastbound I-44 bridges over the Meramec, makes improvements to the ramps between I-270 and I-44 and replaces the bridge from eastbound I-44 to eastbound Watson Road, and the bridge from westbound Watson Road to westbound I-44.

Stoddard County

Westbound Route 60 will be reduced to one lane with a 16-foot width restriction as contractor crews perform pavement repairs. This section of road is located between Route FF in Essex and Route F in Dudley. Weather permitting, crews will be working on Tuesday, Sept. 29 through Tuesday, Nov. 17 from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. daily.

Contractor crews will soon begin working to improve westbound U.S. Route 60 in New Madrid and Stoddard Counties. The project includes bridge and pavement repairs from Route 61 in Sikeston to Route WW in Dudley. Weather permitting, crews will be working on Tuesday, April 14 through Friday, October 30, including overnight. Improvements will be completed in various locations on Route 60 and drivers should anticipate a lane reduction with a 12-foot width restriction within each work zone.

Illinois

Franklin County

Beginning Monday, June 22, there will be road construction activity on IL 14 from the Hamilton/Franklin County Line near Macedonia to west of the Ewing Road due to mine subsidence. Contractor personnel will be onsite making temporary repairs to the roadway and permanent repairs will be ongoing throughout the completion of the mine subsidence which is scheduled to be completed in 2021. Motorists will encounter uneven pavement and bumps throughout the duration of the subsidence. Traffic will be reduced to one lane in each direction and controlled by flaggers intermittently throughout the work zone. Message boards and signs will be in place to alert the motoring public of any change in road conditions. Motorists should reduce speed, be alert to equipment and workers and use extreme caution while traveling through the work zone. To avoid any delays motorists should seek an alternate route.

Gallatin County

IDOT crews will be working on Main Street from IL 1 to Murphy Street in Ridgway, starting at 7 a.m. on Monday, Sept. 21. Traffic will be reduced to one lane in each direction and controlled by flaggers. Work is expected to be finished on Oct. 30. Work includes pavement patching, asphalt surface removal, asphalt paving and pavement markings.

IDOT is alerting drivers of upcoming lane reductions on IL 141. Starting on Tuesday, July 21, weather permitting, there will be road construction work on IL 141 from the IL 141/US 45 intersection to the White County line in New Haven and will require lane closures starting at 7 a.m. Traffic will be reduced to one lane and controlled by flaggers. Work includes pavement patching, asphalt surface removal, asphalt paving and pavement markings. The work is expected to be completed by Nov. 13.

Jefferson County

Norfolk Southern will be working on railroad crossings through the county from Oct. 19-29. They will need to close the following crossings once to let the machines run through the crossings to fix it, and the second time to do a final pave job.

  • October 16 - Auburn Ln and Falcon Ln in Bluford
  • October 19 - Marlow Rd and Stanford Ln Opdyke
  • October 20 - Two mile Creek Ln, Dartmouth Ln, and Chestnut Ln Mt Vernon
  • October 21 - Liebengood Ln, Rackaway St, and Casey St Mt Vernon
  • October 22 - Jordan St, Harrison St, and North St Mt. Vernon
  • October 23 - Park Ave, Tolle Rd, and Green St Mt Vernon
  • October 26 - Oakton Rd. Mt Vernon
  • October 27 - Idlewood Rd, Phillips Ln, and Old Salem Ln. Mt Vernon
  • October 28 - Ebenezer Rd. Mt Vernon
  • October 29 - Beal Rd, Middle Rd Mt. Vernon. South Ave in Dix
  • October 30 - Ridgeland Ln, Douthit Rd in Dix
  • October 20-23 - Main Street & Broadway at 5th street

IDOT says eastbound and westbound IL 15 at 5th Street in Mt. Vernon will be closed between Oct. 20 and Oct. 23. Broadway (eastbound IL 15) will be closed between Oct. 20-21 and Main Street (westbound IL 15) will be closed from Oct. 22-23. Crews from the Norfolk Southern Railroad will be performing repairs on the railroad crossings on IL 15 (Broadway and Main) in Mt. Vernon.

IDOT says work will begin on I-57 from about 2 miles north of Mount Vernon to about 2 miles south of Dix. Starting on Tuesday, Sept. 15, weather permitting, traffic will be reduced to one lane for the contractor to complete patching, milling and resurfacing operations. Work is expected to take about two months.

Route 37 will be reduced to one lane in each direction between East Bethel Rd. and North Bunny Farm Rd. in Mt. Vernon starting Monday, Aug. 24. This is near the I-64 interchange in Mt. Vernon. Crews will be installing new pavement, shoulder and curb and gutter under the I-64 overpass bridge. The work is expected to take two months.

Johnson County

Starting on Wednesday, Sept. 16, weather permitting, IDOT says there will be repairs to the bridge carrying Illinois 37 over the Cache River just south of West Vienna that will require lane closures starting at 7 a.m. Traffic will be reduced to one lane and controlled by signals. The bridge repairs should be completed by Dec. 1. Drivers should be aware of the 11′ - 6″ width restriction, reduce speed, be alert to equipment and workers and use extreme caution while traveling through all work zones.

Beginning Tuesday, Sept. 8 crews will be making repairs to bridges on Rte. 147 over various creeks from the Pope County line to 2.4 miles west of Simpson. The repairs will require lane closures that will begin at 7 a.m. At each bridge there will controlled signals to direct traffic. There will also be width restrictions for the following bridges: Max Creek 10′-6″, Cedar Creek 10′-6″ and Bay Creek 9′-2″. Bridge repairs should be complete by Dec. 1, 2020.

Massac County

IDOT is alerting drivers to upcoming lane reductions on I-24 over the Ohio River. Starting on Sunday night, Sept. 27, weather permitting, there will be road construction work on the structure carrying I-24 over the Ohio River that will require lane closures starting at 7 p.m. Lane closures will be Sunday night through Thursday morning. The contractor will work nightly from 7 p.m. to 7 a.m. Work is expected to be finished on Oct. 30. Work includes hot mix asphalt patches, partial depth patches and pavement markings.

IDOT is alert drivers of an upcoming bridge construction project on I-24 from mile post 34 to mile post 36 starting on March 16, weather permitting. Traffic will be reduced to one lane in each direction with the use of crossovers during construction of the structure. This will be in place until November 15 to facilitate construction of a new bridge in the northbound/westbound lanes. Local traffic should be aware that Country Club Road will also be reconstructed with the work zone at this time. It will be reduced to one lane and closed for duration during construction of the structure.

Saline County

Starting on Monday, Sept. 28, weather permitting, Harco Road will be closed 1.2 miles north of Illinois 13. This closure is expected to last until Friday, Oct. 30. Crews will be removing a bridge and replacing the highway. Drivers should reduce speed, be alert to equipment and workers and use extreme caution in the area.

Union County

IDOT announced an upcoming lane shift on I-57 starting on Friday, May 8 at 12 p.m., weather permitting. All traffic on I-57 from south of Illinois 146 interchange, mile post 30, to just north of the Dongola interchange, mile post 26, will be shifted to the northbound lanes. Traffic will be in a head-to-head configuration, separated by concrete barrier, with one lane for each direction of travel. This will be in place until November 15 to facilitate construction of a new bridge carrying southbound I-57 over Big Creek near mile post 27.

White County

IDOT is alerting drivers of upcoming lane reductions on IL 141. Starting on Tuesday, July 21, weather permitting, there will be road construction work on IL 141 from the IL 141/US 45 intersection to the White County line in New Haven and will require lane closures starting at 7 a.m. Traffic will be reduced to one lane and controlled by flaggers. Work includes pavement patching, asphalt surface removal, asphalt paving and pavement markings. The work is expected to be completed by Nov. 13.

Williamson County

IDOT says starting on Monday night, Oct. 5, weather permitting, there will be construction on I-57 from Old Illinois 13 in Marion (exit 53) to Johnston City (exit 59) that will require lane closures starting at 7 p.m. The contractor will work nightly from 7 p.m. to 7 a.m. Work includes pavement patching, pavement removal and replacement at underpasses, milling, resurfacing and pavement markings. Work is expected to be finished in July 2021.

According to IDOT, starting on Monday, May 4, weather permitting, crews will be working on converting the IL 13/Aurelia Drive intersection east of Marion to a restricted crossing U-turn intersection, adding a turn lane, and the resurfacing of the eastbound and westbound lanes of IL 13 from Fair Street to just east of Main Street. Traffic will be reduced to one lane and controlled by flaggers. The project should be finished by Oct. 30. Work includes earth work, pavement patching, asphalt surface removal, asphalt paving and pavement markings.

Kentucky

Calloway County

Beginning the week of Monday, Nov. 18 crews will be working along a 1-mile section of U.S. 641 at the south edge of Murray. This is from the intersection with U.S. 641-Business/Glendale Road extending southward to the Clarks River Bridge. The work is the first phase of the project reconstructing U.S. 641 from Murray to the Kentucky-Tennessee State Line near Hazel. As work progresses in the coming weeks preparations will begin for culvert work. The contractor anticipates maintaining two travel lanes throughout the 2-year construction process. Some intermittent periods of one lane traffic with alternating flow controlled by flaggers may be required. The target completion date on this first phase is December 1, 2020.

Crittenden County

Construction on the Hughes Branch Bridge along Cotton Patch Rd. will begin on Tuesday, Sept. 8. Cotton Patch Road has been closed since July 9, 2019 due to the structure being deemed unsafe to travel. The target completion of the construction is set for October 30, 2020.

Graves County

KYTC has extended the closure of KY 1124 in eastern Graves County starting Monday, Oct. 19 to allow for the replacement of a culvert that carries a branch of Vulton Creek under the roadway. The closure is along KY 1124 immediately west of Usher Rd. intersection. There will be no marked detour. Drivers may self-detour via KY 564 and KY 80. The project is expected to be complete on the afternoon of Wednesday, Oct. 28.

KYTC and Graves Co. Road Dept. closed Martin Road at the Obion Creek Branch Bridge on Friday, April 3. It was closed after an inspection found additional deterioration of the bridge substructure. Martin Road (County Road 1214) runs between KY 303 and KY 83 just south of the Cuba community. The bridge is near the south end of Martin Road at mile point 0.5. The bridge is closed until further notice. This will likely be a long-term closure.

Hickman County

KYTC plans an extended closure of KY 2208 in central Hickman County starting on Monday, Oct. 5. This extended closure is at mile point 0.25 to allow the Cane Creek Culvert to be replaced with a pre-fabricated aluminum arch culvert. The closure of KY 2208 is about 1/4 a mile north of KY 58 intersection near the Croley community. Drivers may self-detour at the north end of KY 2208 via KY 1708 and KY 575. The target completion date has been extended to Wednesday, Oct. 28.

Marshall County

Beginning at 8 a.m. on Monday, Oct. 26 a portion of KY 402 east of Hardin will be closed for concrete deck repairs to the Clarks River Overflow Bridge. This overflow bridge is along KY 402 just west of the KY 962/Old Olive Road intersection and the main Clarks River Bridge. The roadway at this site is expected to be closed until sometime on Thursday, Oct 29. There will be no marked detour. Message boards will be placed at Hardin and Aurora to alert drivers about the closure.

McCracken County

KYTC extended the duration of an eastbound work zone along I-24 at Paducah to Oct. 25. This eastbound work zone with a 13-foot maximum load width runs along I-24 from mile point 2.8 near the KY 305 Paducah Exit 3 interchange extending eastward through the U.S. 60 Exit 4 interchange to mile point 4.8 near the Perkins Creek Bridge. Truckers should note that this 2-mile long work zone includes a 13-foot maximum load width restriction. Eastbound traffic in this work zone is currently traveling in the left-hand or passing lane. Caution is required due to heavy traffic volume entering I-24 at the Exit 4 interchange. The work zone is along a section of I-24 that gets a lot of local traffic between Exit 7 and Exit 3 at Paducah. Drivers in the immediate Paducah area can help reduce traffic congestion on I-24 in the work zone by taking an alternate route.
