MANHATTAN BEACH, CA — Many Manhattan Beach residents have already put their names in to volunteer in the upcoming Beach Cities Health District (BCHD) vaccination effort. You can add your name or, help with other objectives in the fight against the coronavirus.

BCHD, which serves Manhattan Beach, Hermosa Beach and Redondo Beach, is looking for both medical and non-medical volunteers.

Below is a description of our volunteer opportunities:

COVID-19 VACCINATIONS:

BCHD is at work on opening its own vaccination site and is still in the process of working with its partners to implement vaccinations. They need medical volunteers for administering vaccines, and non-medical volunteers, for a variety of roles such as traffic control, computer administration, etc. A commitment of at least one half-shift per week for at least 3-6 months is required.

COVID-19 TESTING:

BCHD is running a drive-through COVID-19 testing site in partnership with Los Angeles County. Medical volunteers instruct and monitor individuals who self-administer the test to ensure the person correctly completes the COVID-19 test. Non-medical volunteers can assist with computer administration or traffic control. If interested, BCHD can move forward with completing the necessary steps to volunteer and get you scheduled to come out and assist immediately. Again, a commitment of at least one half-shift per week for at least 3-6 months is requested.

COVID-19 POSITIVE RESULTS CALLS:

Volunteers (volunteers with medical backgrounds or experience with contact tracing highly preferred) are also needed to call those individuals who have tested positive after being tested at the BCHD site, to notify them and follow up with critical information. If interested, BCHD can move forward with completing the necessary steps to volunteer and get you scheduled to assist immediately. A commitment of one day per week for at least 3-6 months is requested.

Interested?

Please complete the volunteer interest form here and a member of the BCHD team will contact you.
