Jamesville, NY - A Jamesville Elementary School student has tested positive for Covid-19, the district said today.

The school will remain open, according to Jamesville-DeWitt Superintendent Peter Smith, as the student was last in school a week ago today.

The Onondaga County Health Department is notifying individuals who were in close contact with the student within two days from the onset of the student’s symptoms. Based on that time, J-D officials decided the school can remain open.

J-D officials did not say how many students, staff or faculty are quarantined as a result of the positive case.
