Alpine glacier chunk detaches, killing at least 6 hikers | A large chunk of an Alpine glacier broke loose Sunday and roared down a mountain in Italy, sending ice, snow and rock slamming into hikers on a popular trail on the peak and killing at least six and injuring nine, authorities said, warning that the toll might climb. 'Jet Truck' stuntman dies during live performance in Michigan | Chris Darnell, 40, was driving the "Shockwave Jet Truck" while racing two planes during the Field of Flight Airshow in Battle Creek. The truck, which was outfitted with three J34-48 Pratt & Whitney jet engines and capable of reaching speeds of more than 350 mph, crashed during the maneuver and flipped off the runway. Unarmed 25-year-old Black man shot, killed by police in Ohio | A Black man was unarmed when Akron police chased him on foot and killed him in a hail of gunfire, but officers believed he had shot at them earlier from a vehicle and feared he was preparing to fire again, authorities said. Meteorologist Eileen Javora says temperatures in Northern California are starting off cooler this Fourth of July. Winds are fairly light in the Valley, but an onshore breeze is coming in from Fairfield at 20 mph. Temperatures will be in the mid-70s by noon, likely topping out in the low to mid-80s by 4 p.m.
