2 shot at a Sikh temple in Sacramento, sheriff's office arrests second suspect | Two people were shot at the Gurdwara Sacramento Sikh Society Temple Sunday afternoon, the Sacramento County Sheriff's Office said. The sheriff's office also confirmed with KCRA 3 Sunday night that deputies took the second shooting suspect into custody. Read more here.

Man killed in shooting at Hard Rock Hotel & Casino in South Lake Tahoe area; 2 arrested | A man was killed after being shot in the head at the Hard Rock Hotel & Casino in the South Lake Tahoe area on Saturday morning during an apparent argument at a bar, the Douglas County sheriff said. The suspected shooter and another person were later arrested on Highway 50. Read more here.

Women in Sacramento unite to build 10 homes for month-long Habitat for Humanity event | Women painted and learned to use nail guns to build their new homes on Le Donne Drive in south Sacramento on Saturday. With the help of Habitat for Humanity, they are working hard to have a fresh start. Read more here.

Downtown Sacramento workers say business is booming thanks to Kings games and other Golden 1 Center events | Sacramento Kings fans packed the downtown streets in the hours leading up to Saturday's game against the Jazz. While the Kings may have been the biggest draw downtown, some people said simply came out to enjoy a break from rainy weather. Read more here.

  • 10:00 a.m. | The California State Assembly has scheduled a committee hearing to consider the gas price gouging proposal, for which a special session is underway.
  • 6:00 p.m. | The City of Fairfield will hold a community engagement forum to discuss the use of military equipment within the Fairfield Police Department.
  • 7 p.m. | The Sacramento Kings can clinch their first playoff berth since 2006 when they host the Timberwolves tonight at the Golden 1 Center.

TODAY'S WEATHER OUTLOOK

Meteorologist Eileen Javora says rain in the forecast will arrive in Northern California overnight into Tuesday. Monday morning is mainly clear, meaning cold temperatures to start the day. Clouds will move in as we get into the afternoon and evening hours. Temperatures will be in the lower 40s by 9 a.m., reach the lower 50s by 11 a.m. and then top out in the lower 60s by 5 p.m.
