As the second day of class rolled in, the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department and the CCSD Police Department were busy monitoring traffic safety at a local high school.

Metro released a PSA detailing some of the events that occurred near Bonanza High School Tuesday morning while the departments team up to monitor school safety.

In the video, officers say they pulled over motorists for various offenses like double parking, illegal u-turns, and, most commonly, speeding.

According to metro, the events led to many citations for drivers, some of them being parents of students.

One officer even recalled an interaction with a valley mom, saying she was going more than half the posted limit in a school zone because she woke up late and didn't want her child to be late for school.

The video finishes by warning motorists that both police departments will continue to crack down on problem areas by establishing a broader police presence.

This comes as four separate crashes were reported Tuesday morning across the Las Vegas valley, leaving three pedestrians dead and one in critical condition.
