Lehigh Valley Easter Egg Hunts 2023: Where to search for eggs and hang with the Easter Bunny (UPDATE)

Editor’s note: This story has been updated with event date changes from individual municipalities, churches, organizations and businesses due to anticipated unpleasant weather. Check back frequently for updates.

Easter is still about three weeks away.

This year, it lands on Sunday, April 9.

In anticipation of the holiday, many communities are planning to celebrate spring events a bit earlier with egg hunts, Easter Bunny appearances and other celebrations.

Children for most events are required to bring their own baskets for the egg hunts. Here’s a list of Easter-related events happening in the Lehigh Valley:

In Northampton County:

Bangor

10 a.m. Saturday, April 8: Easter Egg Hunt, Bangor Church of the Nazarene, 150 Bunny Trail Road. All age groups.

Bethlehem

6 p.m. Friday, March 24: Easter Jam, 1414 Pennsylvania Ave. Spring activities and mini petting zoo with live animals. Hosted by CrossPoint Wesleyan Church. Open to all families.

11 a.m. to noon Saturday, March 25: A Hoppin’ Egg Hunt, lower level at Kids Quest at the Outlets at Wind Creek Bethlehem, 77 Wind Creek Blvd. Three age groups: 2-4 years old at 11 a.m.; 5 to 7 years old at 11:30 a.m.; and 8 to 12 years old at noon. Easter Bunny photos will be available from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.

11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday, March 25 and Sunday, March 26; Saturday, April 1 and Sunday, April 2; and Saturday, April 8: Easter Bunny photos, lower level of the Outlets at Wind Creek Bethlehem, 77 Wind Creek Blvd. Bunny break is from 2 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. with the exception of Saturday, April 8, in which the break will be from 3 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. Walk-ins only. Saturday, March 25 to Saturday, April 8: Coloring contest, Kids Quest at the Wind Creek Bethlehem, 77 Wind Creek Blvd. Children can receive coloring pages to be placed into a picture frame for all to see. Each child will receive a special gift for participating and an entry into a grand prize giveaway. One winner in each age group receives a free photo with the Easter Bunny and other Easter goodies. Age groups include each age spanning 1-11.

10 a.m. to noon Saturday, April 1 (rain date 10 a.m. to noon Saturday, April 8): Easter Egg Hunt & Spring Festival, front lawn of the First Presbyterian Church of Bethlehem, 2344 Center St. Includes other hands-on activities for children. Information: fpc-bethlehem.org.

10 a.m. Saturday, April 8: Easter Egg Hunt, Danny Rice Field, at Main, Spring, and Lehigh streets. Sponsored by the City of Bethlehem Recreation Bureau. City residents only. Appearance by the Easter Bunny.

Bethlehem Township

6 p.m. sharp Friday, March 31 (rain/snow date: 6 p.m. sharp Friday, April 7).: Easter Egg Hunt, Bethlehem Township Municipal Park, 2900 Farmersville Road. Area surrounding the community center will be divided for toddlers, preschool and elementary-aged children. Prizes will be awarded. Bring Easter basket and meet the Easter Bunny. Residents only.

10 a.m. to noon Saturday, April 8 (rain or shine): Easter Egg Hunt, Green Pond United Methodist Church, 4411 Green Pond Road. Photos with the Easter Bunny and the Gospel Train Club will present model trains. All ages. Pre-registration is required here.

Easton

10 a.m. Saturday, April 8: Easter Egg Hunt, Nevin Park along Lafayette Street. Ages infant to 10.

1 p.m. Saturday, April 8: Heil Park, 900 Packer Street. Ages infant to 10.

4 p.m. Saturday, April 8: Cottingham Stadium, N. 11th St. Ages infant to 10.

Hanover Township, Northampton County

11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Sunday, March 26, 2023: Easter Egg Hunt and Photos With the Easter Bunny, 100 Stoke Park Road. Bake sale. Hosted by the Hanover Township Volunteer Fire Co.

Hellertown

10 a.m. sharp Saturday, April 8: Hellertown Historical Society Egg Hunt, Morris J. Dimmick Park, Tobias Drive and Durham Street. Children and accompanying adults are encouraged to be in the correct age-appropriate areas and ready for the hunt before start time. Eggs should be opened to check for eligible for prizes before leaving the area. Prizes may be claimed at the Park Pavilion.

Lower Mount Bethel Township

10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Saturday, April 1 (rain date Saturday, April 8): Easter Egg Hunt and Pancake Breakfast, Riverton Field and Pavilion, 7701 Martins Creek Belvidere Highway. Breakfast runs 10:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. Cost is $8 adults; $5 children ages 5 to 10; and free for children age 4 and under. Egg hunt follows at noon sharp for children ages 12 and under. Lots of eggs and goodie bags provided. Pre-payment is required for the breakfast by Wednesday, March 29 at the township office. Hosted by the Lower Mount Bethel Township Recreation Board and Lower Mount Bethel Sandt’s Eddy Fire. Dept. Information: 610-252-5074.

Lower Nazareth Township

11 a.m. Saturday, April 1 (rain date Sunday, April 2): Easter Egg Hunt, 306 Butztown Road. About 8,000 chocolate-filled eggs distributed to six age groups: 0-1; 2-3; 4-5; 6-7; 8-9; and 10-12. Photos with the Easter Bunny. The Hecktown Volunteer Fire Co. and the Colonial Regional Police Department will also be onsite to hand out goody bags with chocolate-covered bunnies and treats. Prizes donated by area businesses.

Nazareth

1 p.m. Sunday, April 2 (rain date 1 p.m. Saturday, April 8): Easter Egg Hunt, Nazareth Boro Park, 475 N. Broad St. Borough children ages 8 and under, separated by category. Hosted by Vigilance Hose Company No. 1. The Easter Bunny will be available for photos afterward with guests required to use their own cameras.

10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Sunday, April 2 (rain or shine): Community Egg Hunt, Equi-librium, 524 Fehr Road. Crafts, bake sale, raffle prizes and appearance by the Easter bunny, as well as “horsey” photos with own camera and barn tours. Suggested donation of $10 accepted. Pre-registration required here.

Northampton Borough

11 a.m. Saturday, April 1 (rain date Sunday, April 2): Easter Egg Hunt, Municipal Park, Laubach Ave. Many chocolate-filled eggs throughout the park and appearance by the Easter Bunny. All children ages 10 and under additionally will receive a chocolate bunny after the hunt.

Palmer Township

10:30 a.m. Sunday, April 2: Faith Community Easter Egg Hunt, 3000 Freemansburg Ave. A children’s play will be shown and “Pics with Chicks” offered. Children ages 1-12.

Roseto

11 a.m. Saturday, April 1: 2nd Annual Helping Hands Easter Egg Hunt, Roseto Ball Park, McKinley Avenue and Denisco Street. Three age groups: infant to age 3; 4-6; and 7-10. Prizes for each group and appearance by the Easter Bunny planned.

Stockertown

9:15 a.m. Saturday, April 1 (rain or shine): Easter Egg Hunt and Free Pancake Breakfast, Forks United Church of Christ, 4500 Sullivan Trail. Ages infant to 12. Starts with breakfast; egg hunt begins at 10 a.m. Candy, prizes and photos with the Easter Bunny. Information: forksucc.org.

Upper Mount Bethel Township

10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, April 1 (rain date Sunday, April 2): Annual Family Day & Easter Egg Hunt, All Aspects at the Barn, 1584 S. Delaware Dr. Thousands of eggs, prizes and grand prizes. Three age groups: 1-4 at noon; 5-7 at 12:15 p.m.; and 8-12 at 12:30 p.m. Face-painting, bounce house, petting zoo and photos with the Easter Bunny. Additionally, vendors, food trucks, wine tents and live music is planned. Registration is required for the egg hunt here.

12:30 p.m. Saturday, April 8 (rain or shine): Easter Egg Hunt, Apple Blossom Village, 690 Allegheny Road. Appearance by the Easter Bunny at 12:30 p.m. followed by the egg hunt at 1 p.m. at the pavilion. Prize ceremony to follow at 2:15 p.m. Four age groups: infant to age 3; 4-5; 6-8; and 9-12. Donations to area food pantry accepted. Hosted by Apple Blossom Village and Millers Egg Ranch Country Store & Farm Market.

Upper Nazareth

Noon Saturday, April 1: Easter Egg Hunt, at the field behind the township’s municipal building, 100 Newport Ave. Hosted by the Upper Nazareth Fire Department and East Lawn Social Club. Ages infant to 11; township residents only. Photos with the Easter Bunny, candy and prizes afterward at the Upper Nazareth Fire. Department, 25 Newport Ave.

Washington Township, Northampton County

2 p.m. Saturday, April 8: Easter Egg Hunt, Fr. DeNisco Council 3862 Knights of Columbus Slate Belt Area, on the grounds of the Council home, 1860 West Bangor Road. Rain or shine. Participants ages infant to 18.

Wilson

9 a.m. Saturday, April 8: Easter Egg Hunt, Bunny Visit and Free Breakfast, Strausser Community Center, 2201 Liberty St. Breakfast hosted by the Wilson Borough Lions Club starts at 9 a.m. followed by the egg hunt at 10 a.m. at Meuser Park, 2240 Northampton St. Egg hunt sponsored by Celebrate Wilson; the Wilson Borough Lions Club; and Wilson Borough Block Watch. Four age groups: 2 and under; 3-5; 6-8; and 9-10.

In Lehigh County:

Allentown

Noon to 2 p.m. Saturday, April 15: Mayor’s Egg Hunt, Jordan Park, 6th St. and Sumner Ave. Three age groups: 2-4; 5-7; and 8-10. Pre-registration required here. Udder Bar also is planned to have an ice cream truck at the event with cool treats to purchase.

Coopersburg

Noon to 4 p.m. Saturday, April 8: Easter Egg Hunt & Brunch Party, Bell Gate Farm, 7081 Bell Gate Road. Thousands of eggs, bounce houses and crafts. Photos with the Easter Bunny with the cameras of guests. Cost is $15 per child, but $5 discount for each additional sibling. Adult brunch with cocktails is $35. Tickets can be purchased here.

Emmaus

10 a.m. to noon and 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, April 1: “Wild Eggs!,” Wildlands Conservancy, 3701 Orchid Place. Program includes annual non-traditional and non-competitive egg hunt outdoors. Children will search for age-appropriate, spring-themed items; watch a live animal egg hunt with education animals; make a nature craft; and meet live rabbits. All participants receive a reusable “Wildlands” bag, book and a take-home craft. Children should dress for the outdoors. Restrooms available, no pets. Registration is required here and space is limited; $24 per child. Information: wildlandspa.org.

Macungie

3:30 p.m. to 7 p.m. Saturday, April 1: Easter Egg Hunt, Macungie Memorial Park, 50 N. Poplar St. Food trucks, bounce house and appearance by the Easter Bunny. $5 per family entry fee. Five age groups for hunt: infant to age 1 at 4 p.m. (at Memorial Hall); ages 2-3 at 4:15 p.m. (on the park grounds); ages 4-5 at 4:30 p.m. (on the park grounds); ages 6-7 at 4:45 p.m. (on the park grounds); and ages 8-10 at 5 p.m. (on the park grounds).

New Tripoli

10 a.m. Saturday, April 8: Easter Egg Hunt and other activities, Grace Community Church of New Tripoli, 7343 Gun Club Road. Hot dogs and snacks; crafts and games; and balloon creations.

North Whitehall

10:30 a.m. Saturday, April 8: Easter Egg Hunt, Rolling Hills Recreation, 4564 Spring Hill Drive. Prizes in each egg and every participant receives a free hot dog. RSVP required: https://www.facebook.com/rollinghillsrec or 484-646-2200.

South Whitehall Township

1 p.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, April 8: Community Easter Egg Hunt at the church, Church of Christ, Walbert Avenue and Route 309. Age toddler to sixth grade. Information: church@jordanucc.org.

Upper Milford Township

10:30 a.m. Saturday, April 1 (rain date is 10:30 a.m. Saturday, April 8): Community Easter Egg Hunt, 8031 Salem Bible Church Road. Thousands of eggs and prizes. Ages toddler to fifth grade. Information: churchinfo@salem-bible.org or 610-966-5822.

Upper Saucon Township

9 a.m. to 10 a.m. Saturday, March 25 (rain date 9 a.m. to 10 a.m. Sunday, March 26): Bunny Palooza at The Patio presented by Allegiant, at The Promenade Shops at Saucon Valley, 2845 Center Valley Parkway. DJ, games and bubbles with a special guest appearance by the Easter Bunny. After 10 a.m., the Easter Bunny will be available for professional photos in the outdoor Stone Gazebo, near Starbucks. Advance registration for photos is recommended, but walk-ups will also be accepted throughout the day until 6 p.m. Photo packages start at $27. Children who take photos with the Easter Bunny will receive one gift bag per family.

In Warren County:

Belvidere

1:30 p.m. Tuesday, April 4: Little Storytime Listeners Easter Egg Hunt, the Richard D. Gardner Branch of the Warren County Library, 2 Shotwell Drive. Games, treats and story-time. Registration required at warrenlib.org.

Hackettstown

2:30 p.m. Saturday, March 18: Pysanky: the Art of Ukrainian Egg Decorating Demo, at the Northeast Branch of the Warren County Library, 40 Route 46 West. Artist Jennifer Santa Maria will create, using dyes and wax, a traditional Ukrainian “batik” egg for spectators. Guests will learn about its historical significance, techniques, and traditional egg designs. Ages 13 and up. Registration required at warrenlib.org.

Phillipsburg

8 a.m. Saturday, April 1: Easter Egg Hunt, Phillipsburg Middle School’s Maloney Stadium at Bellis Field, 489 Hillcrest Blvd. Hosted by The Exchange Club of Warren County. Ages Pre-K, K, 1st and 2nd grades. Appearance by the Easter Bunny.

Pohatcong Township

8 a.m. to 11 a.m. Saturday, March 25 : Breakfast with the Easter Bunny, at the fire station, Huntington Fire Company, 1 Maple Ave. $10 adults; $5 children ages 10 and under; and free for children under age 3. Bring own cameras for photos.

11:30 a.m. Sunday, March 26: 27th annual Easter Egg Hunt at Pohatcong Township Elementary School, 240 Route 519. Ages 1-10. Must be Pohatcong Township resident. No tickets required, but leave courtesy message of attendance on the Pohatcong Township Police Department Facebook page. Hosted by the Pohatcong Township Police Department and the Huntington Volunteer Fire Co. Appearance by the Easter Bunny.

Note: This event has since been moved to Sunday, March 26 from an initial 11:30 a.m. Saturday, March 25 date due to anticipate unpleasant weather.

Quakertown Farmers Market

Starts 1 p.m. Sunday, March 26 and runs 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. Saturdays and 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sundays until Saturday, April 8; also 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. Friday, April 7: Easter Bunny photos, Event Room No. 201, 201 Station Road, Quakertown. Photos cost $5 each or three photos for $13.

1 p.m. sharp Saturday, April 1 (rain date 1 p.m. sharp Sunday, April 2): Easter Eggs-Stravaganza Hunt, 201 Station Road, Quakertown. Hunt will be next to the north entrance and guests should follow directional signs. Bring a basket; four age categories: 0-3; 4-6; 7-9; and special needs. All participants receive a gift; more than 10,000 filled eggs and prizes.
