Nov. 23—The Humboldt Literacy Project will present shows across multiple branches of Humboldt County Library starring magician Dale Lorzo from Nov. 30 to Dec. 3.

Lorzo has been a professional entertainer for five decades, performing throughout California and the West at fairs, community events, schools and lodges, as well as doing several hundred business and industrial promotions for organizations.

Each of Lorzo's local magic shows will vary, so people attending more than one of these Family Literacy Party events will see different things at each one.

Lorzo's itinerary is as follows:

—Nov. 30 at 6 p.m. at the Eureka Main Library, 1313 Main St.

—Dec. 1 at 3 p.m. at the Fortuna Library, 753 14th St.

—Dec. 2 at noon at the Kim Yerton Memorial Library on Loop Road in Hoopa

—Dec. 3 at 10:30 a.m. at the Arcata Library, 500 Seventh St.

—Dec. 3 at 3 p.m. at the McKinleyville Library (at Azalea Hall), 1620 Pickett Road.

Each child in attendance at the shows will also get to choose their own free book to keep.
