CLEVELAND, Ohio — There was no overall winner in Tuesday night’s Mega Millions drawing, so the jackpot has jumped to an estimated $490 million.

With increased ticket sales, it won’t be surprising to see the jackpot surpass a half-billion dollars by the time of the next drawing on Friday, Jan. 8, 2021.

That’s quite a bit of cash. Speaking of that, the cash option for Friday’s jackpot is $372.3 million before taxes. The option of taking 30 annual payments is $16.3 million per year before taxes.

It’s fun to imagine winning all of that money, but the odds are heavily against it being anything other than a dream ... the chances of winning with a $2 ticket are 1 in 30,821,472.

The numbers from Tuesday night’s drawing are 20-43-51-55-57 Mega Ball 4. Tickets sold in California, Minnesota and New Jersey matched five numbers and are worth $1 million each. A ticket sold in New York matched five numbers with the Megaplier (2x) and is worth $2 million.
