It's called the AP-4.
The company said it emits a fog of water and a PAA cleaning agent that fills a room within seconds, disinfects and eliminates germs and viruses.
"We get a consistent, three-dimensional fog on all exposed surfaces and our (PAA cleaning agent) is able to achieve a complete and total kill of all pathogens, viruses, spores, fungi," said AltaPure sales and marketing specialist, Caroline Kochelek. "We haven't run into something that we can't completely eliminate."
The company said its machine would even stand up to coronavirus.
"If our machine was utilized in that room, it would completely eliminate coronavirus from that environment," Kochelek said.
Carl Ricciardi, CEO of AltaPure and co inventor of the AP-4 machine said it took more than a decade to perfect the machine.
He said if the coronavirus came to Wisconsin, our hospitals would be drastically underprepared.
"Almost no hospitals, except for our customers, do a thorough clean between patients," Ricciardi said. "So what the public doesn't know is they're really at risk and I think the coronavirus is going to point out that we are really walking a razor's edge."
"There's gotta be a real change in a turnaround with attitude. Unless the hospital industry takes positive steps, people are going to die in the hospital," Ricciardi said.
The AP-4 is used in some hospitals in Illinois, but none yet in Wisconsin.
AltaPure said since the uptick in coronavirus cases, it has received calls from hospitals in Italy, Portugal, New Zealand, Australia, Ireland, Taiwan and Vietnam.
