Moped Driver Seriously Injured After Crashing Into Tow Truck
WYANDANCH, NY — A 25-year-old man is seriously injured after his moped struck a tow truck Sunday morning in Wyandanch, Suffolk County Police said.
The man was driving a 2004 Madami moped going northbound in the southbound lanes of Straight Path near Levy Boulevard at a high speed, police said. At about 3:49a.m., police said the moped struck a 2011 Hino tow truck that was picking up a disabled vehicle.

The driver of the moped was taken to Good Samaritan Hospital Medical Center in West Islip for treatment of serious injuries, police said. The tow truck driver, who was inside the truck at the time of the crash, was not injured, police said.
