The Atlanta Fire Department was called to the St. Regis Hotel in Buckhead after a weekend accident injured several people.

Channel 2 Action News learned that the accident happened around 6:10 p.m. on Saturday, just as a storm was moving through Atlanta.

We’re working to learn more about the accident and about the people injured, on Channel 2 Action News starting at 4 p.m.

According to fire officials, a tent had collapsed during a wedding, sending two people to the hospital.

Emergency officials said four others were checked out by Grady EMS at the scene and the Atlanta Fire Department evaluated another five people.

People who work in the shopping center across the street described “hurricane-like” conditions at the time this happened.

One woman who works at a makeup/spa business says water was coming in under the doors to their store when the storm came through and they can’t understand why anyone wouldn’t heed warnings to get inside before the storm came.
