1 killed in head-on crash on Route 30

One person is dead following a head-on crash in Lancaster County on Saturday.

West Hempfield Township police say the crash, involving two vehicles happened on Route 30 near the Malleable Road overpass.

According to investigators, a silver Chrysler 200 was traveling east on Route 30, when it crossed the median and struck a Kia Spectra head-on.

Police say a passenger in one of the vehicles died at the scene.

Two victims were flown to Penn State Hershey Medical Center while four others were taken to local hospitals.

Route 30 remained closed for the investigation until 11 p.m. Saturday night.

The crash is being investigated by the Lancaster County Crash Investigation Team.
