Downtown will soon be home to Houston's newest music venue.

The Terminal will be located in POST Houston, an upcoming massive upcoming hub for food, shopping and recreation. Live Nation plans to add music to the "recreation" with The Terminal, which will be capable of holding 5,000 people.

The venue boasts "advanced architecture" that will blend the feel of a small club with H-Town's distintive vibes.

It will be designed by OMA, an international firm. There will be a large floor for general admission and special balcony seating.

Architects hope to create an intimate setting between artists and their fans.

Tim Jorgensen, vice president of operations for Live Nation, said The Terminal is a perfect fit for H-Town, which lacks any similarly sized venues.

"The sweet spot for artists to engage with fans is often Terminal size," Jorgensen told Houston Chronicle's Joey Guerra, who first reported the announcement. "We’re filling a basic Houston need and indeed expect to thrive."

The venue will open in November, according to Live Nation. Shows will be announced in July.
