NORWAY, Mich. (WLUC) - A Norway-Vulcan School District classroom will be getting a make-over.

Meemic Auto Insurance presented twelve $10,000 grants to teachers around the country. Three were chosen from Michigan and only one from the Upper Peninsula.

Jacqueline Leiker, a technology teacher from Norway-Vulcan Schools, will be working with designers from Lakeshore Learning to create a new and enhanced classroom.

"It's just good for all around classroom environment, and a lot of the new teaching techniques and a lot of the new philosophies that we follow with group work and things like that, this room is going to be very conducive. It's really good for things like that,” said Leiker.

The school is very thankful for this opportunity. This is the largest grant award that the company has ever given away.
