JENISON, MI — A 31-year-old Hudsonville woman was critically injured after a car turned into the path of a semi-truck in Georgetown Township.

The car was driven by a 15-year-old Hudsonville girl, who also was seriously injured, and the 31-year-old was a passenger.

Ottawa County sheriff’s deputies said the teen was driving a Nissan sedan west on 44th Street about 5:30 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 2.

She was stopped at a traffic signal at 14th Avenue, but then turned left in front of an eastbound semi-truck pulling an empty flatbed trailer.

The truck driver was not injured.

Police said the 31-year-old woman was flown by Aero Med helicopter to Spectrum Health Butterworth Hospital with critical injuries. The teen was taken by ambulance to the same hospital for serious injuries.
