OAK LAWN, IL — D123 PTA/PTO/PTSA hosted a drive-through, socially distant Spooklactuar on Oct. 25. Over 900 students from Oak Lawn-Hometown Middle School, Hannum, Sward, Covington, Kolmar and Hometown collected pre-bagged candy and showed off their costumes in their parents’ cars.

The front lawn of the middle school was decked out with various spooky Halloween scenes. The Oak Lawn Batmobile also put in an appearance.

D123’s parent organizations wanted to do some for students since so many Halloween parties and events have been canceled because of the pandemic. Many families, businesses and organizations donated financially, candy or created awesome displays, including:

  • Oak Lawn-Hometown Middle School PTSA
  • Hannum PTA
  • Kolmar PTA
  • Oak Lawn-Hometown Dist. 123 Educational Foundation
  • Hometown PTA
  • Oak Lawn Kiwanis
  • Mary Wallace Realty
  • Bat Mobile Rental
