The parents of a teen who died in a crash last year have filed a lawsuit against four energy companies and PennDOT, claiming construction of a natural gas pipeline led to dangerous road conditions and the fatal crash.

According to our partners at TribLive.com, the Maclean Maund estate said poor drainage caused water to pool and freeze on the road, which led to the Seton Hill University student losing control and colliding with an oncoming truck. Maund died after being injured in the crash.

Sunoco Pipeline, Dominion Energy Transmission, Eastern Gas Transmission and Storage Inc., Columbia Gas, PennDOT and five property owners are named as defendants in the lawsuit.
