A 42-year-old Manassas man died Thursday morning after he was struck by a bus underneath an overpass on Interstate 66 in Virginia.

Prince William County police said the crash happened just before 7 a.m. on Sudley Road in Manassas. The driver of a Prevost bus was headed south on Sudley Road near the I-66 overpass when the vehicle struck a man who was walking in the roadway, police said in a statement.

The pedestrian hit a concrete barrier and fell into the road. He was transported to a hospital where he died.
