A road worker was struck and killed in the area of Cave Creek Road and Dynamite Boulevard on Wednesday afternoon.

Police identified the man as 59-year-old Alex Gonzalez and said investigators believe that speeding may have led to the crash.

Phoenix police say a silver SUV crashed into a work truck that was parked in a median with cones around it, striking Gonzalez, who was behind the truck.
