The popular Dumpling Lady food truck and also its Optimist Hall food stall are temporarily closed because a worker tested positive for the novel coronavirus.

“As a small business, we find it important to maintain transparency and honesty with our patrons. Despite required daily screening of all employees, we learned this morning that a staff member has tested positive for COVID-19,” the company said Monday on Facebook.

The employee last worked Sunday and is self-isolating at home, according to the company, known for its specialty noodles and dumplings.

The food truck and food stall will remain closed for a few days for cleaning, the company said.

An official with The Dumpling Lady could not immediately be reached for comment Monday.

Optimist Hall at 1115 N. Brevard St., where The Dumpling Lady operates its food stall, remains open with increased sanitation practices, according to the Optimist Hall Facebook page.

“The tenant’s stall will remain closed until all appropriate cleaning practices have been implemented and all staff members have been tested by a healthcare provider with negative results,” Optimist Hall said on Facebook.

Several other Charlotte-area restaurants have recently reported closing temporarily after workers tested positive for the virus since being allowed to open last month under the state stay-at-home order.
