San Bernardino County reported 88 new COVID-19 positive cases and four new deaths Thursday. 

The county has recorded a total of 729 cases and 24 virus-related deaths. A total of 6,816 people have been tested in the county, with 10.7% testing positive. 

Of the 729 cases, 103 are in Yucaipa, where an outbreak occurred at a nursing home. They are also clustered in the larger cities in the county's western half, with 87 in Fontana, 62 in the city of San Bernardino and 48 in Rancho Cucamonga.

The number of infected patients in the high desert remains relatively low, with three in both Yucca Valley and Morongo Valley and one in Joshua Tree.

The county has seen big increases this week as officials announced 157 new cases Monday. On Tuesday, the county had a total of 547 cases. 

Health officials in San Bernardino County on Tuesday ordered the county's roughly 2 million residents to wear face coverings when leaving home. The county also said masks should be worn while driving. 

In nearby Riverside County, 101 new COVID-19 cases and one additional death were reported Thursday, bringing the countywide totals to 1,280 confirmed cases and 33 deaths. A total of 125 people have recovered, officials said. 

In Imperial County, there were a total of 79 confirmed cases and three virus-related deaths as of Thursday; 667 tests had been performed.
