A third case of novel coronavirus has been confirmed in Santa Clara County, health officials said Friday.

Health officials are expected to hold a news conference at 4 p.m. Friday to provide additional details.

According to NBC affiliate KNTV, the person who tested positive is a woman and had not been quarantined at Travis Air Force Base in Fairfield.

Travis AFB was one of four bases hand-selected by the secretary of defense to assist the Department of Health and Human Services in housing overseas travelers due to the novel coronavirus.

It is not yet known if the third case is connected to either of the two cases in Santa Clara County.
