Driver training is available and Ziehler said those who pass the testing are paid $18.93 an hour. Bus drivers also receive health benefits, a state pension and a $1,000 bonus this year.

Ziehler said candidates must enjoy working with children. He said if you've never considered being a school bus driver, now is a great time to think about it.
