Sioux City Fire Rescue had to battle a house fire and the weather Friday morning.

SCFR responded to 511 Isabella Street shortly after 6:30 a.m., two of the first arriving units had difficulty going up the hill and got stuck due to the road conditions. They quickly called for backup.

Upon arrival, they found a fire in the back bedroom of the house. No one was home at the time and it was quickly put out.

"Our crews were able to quickly get inside and do a primary search and put out the fire that we had in the bedroom," said Captain Dustin Johnson. "Our crew responding had to deal with some pretty tough road conditions we did have two rigs get stuck. We did encounter some sliding issues, people falling, and it's kind of the nature of the game during an Iowa winter."

Captain Johnson also mentioned that the fire began to fall from the bedroom into the basement but were able to stop the fire from causing any major damage to the house.
