St. Cloud man seriously injured in crash near Motley

ST. CLOUD — A St. Cloud man was seriously injured in a three-vehicle crash Tuesday afternoon near Motley, according to a Minnesota State Patrol report.

Arne Everett Kvaal, 20, sustained injuries believed to be life-threatening, according to the report. He was taken to St. Cloud Hospital. 

The crash happened about 5 miles north of Motley shortly after 1:30 p.m. According to the report, two vehicles were driving south on Minnesota Highway 64, and a pickup truck was headed north. 

One vehicle going south — driven by Kvaal — lost control, entered the northbound lane and hit the pickup truck, driven by Reid Patrick McFarlane, 63, Monticello.

According to the report, a vehicle driven by David Lee Erickson, 49, Sartell, then hit Kvaal's vehicle. 

McFarlane and Erickson both sustained injuries believed to be non life-threatening. McFarlane was taken to St. Cloud Hospital, and Erickson was taken to Lakewood Health System.
