Structure fire due to homeless activity, according to fire officials

A structure fire broke out Saturday night in Fresno.

The Fresno Fire Department responded to the call shortly after 7:30 p.m. near the 3800 block of E. Washington.

When fire crews arrived, they found smoke coming from the back room of a house that seemed to be vacant. The home was boarded up.

Firefighters believe this was due to some type of homeless activity and the damages range from $10,000-15,000.

The fire was quickly put out and contained to that back room.
