San Antonio's award-winning writers Shea Serrano and Adam Serwer will discuss the "cruelty" of the President Donald Trump era next week.

Serrano and Serwer, a writer for the Atlantic, will discuss the latter's book "The Cruelty is the Point" in a June 29 Zoom chat hosted by Nowhere Bookshop, an Alamo Heights bookstore owned by author Jenny Lawson.

The book is a collection of essays that "make a damning case that cruelty is not merely an unfortunate byproduct of the Trump administration but its main objective and the central theme of the American project," according to online event details.

Purchasing a ticket to the online event secures a signed copy of "The Cruelty is the Point" for each guest. The books will shipped out after the event, online details say.

According to Serwer's Twitter account, the event is virtual because the book's publisher, One World, is not hosting live events yet.

Access to the Zoom can be purchased via an Eventbrite page for $33. The online event is scheduled for 7 to 8 p.m.
