Three dead in fiery head-on collision in Boca Raton

The Florida Highway Patrol is investigating a fiery crash that left three people dead at the Interstate 95 Palmetto Exit ramp in Boca Raton.

Christopher Alfeo, 35, of Boynton Beach, the driver of a Kia Optima, was traveling in the wrong direction on the exit ramp around 1 a.m. Saturday.

The Kia collided head-on with a Hyundai Sonata driven by 57-year-old Brenda Walker. of Fort Lauderdale.

Both vehicles became engulfed in flames.

The drivers and a passenger in the Kia, 25-year-old Amber Reif, of the United Kingdom, were all pronounced dead at the scene by Boca Raton Fire Rescue personnel.

The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
