TOLLAND, CT — A tanker from the Tolland Fire Department was called into service in Stafford Tuesday as a barn went up in flames, fire officials said.

The fire broke out just after 11 a.m. at 47 Boyer Road in Stafford.

Authorities said the barn was "heavily involved" and flames were becoming a threat to a nearby house.

The section of Boyer Road sits just northwest of Crystal Lake.
