The UC Davis student who was being tested for coronavirus does not have the virus, school officials said Saturday.

Test results for COVID-19 came back negative, Yolo County health officials said. Two other students who were in contact with them have been released from isolation as well, officials said.

Campus resources like student housing and dining services will still continue their intensified cleaning programs.

Although the student tested negative, residents are still encouraged to wash their hands, cover coughs and stay home if sick to prevent the spread of the virus, officials said.

Similar to other viral infections, coronavirus is spread through droplets when an infected person coughs or sneezes.
