Vehicle crashes into open Morrissey Blvd. bridge

A vehicle crashed into a partially opened Morrissey Boulevard bridge in Boston's Dorchester neighborhood Wednesday afternoon.

The crash happened on the inbound side of the roadway heading from Interstate 93 toward Columbia Road.

Video from Sky 5 showed the vehicle had partially fallen onto the portion of the drawbridge section that opens and closes for boat traffic.

It was not immediately clear why the car ended up crashing into the partially open bridge.

Video from the scene did show what appeared to be the barrier blocking all lanes down at the time.

Morrissey Boulevard was closed in the area as a tow truck worked to remove the vehicle.

There were no immediate reports of injuries.
