WASTGov. DeSantis expected to sign abortion bill at Kissimmee church, Thursday morning
Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis has scheduled a Thursday morning news conference in Kissimmee.
He’s set to make his appearance at the Nacion de Fe church on Irlo Bronson Memorial Highway.
The governor is expected to discuss abortion and sign the Reducing Fetal and Infant Mortality bill into law, which would mean no abortions after 15 weeks of pregnancy. The bill was presented to DeSantis earlier Thursday.
Rape and incest would not be exceptions. The only ones would be "the pregnant woman’s life or to prevent a serious risk of substantial and irreversible physical impairment of a major bodily function, which must be certified in writing by two physicians, or by one physician in the case of an emergency if a second physician is not available."
