Where to find Easter 2023 egg hunts, bunny visits and more in central Pa.
It’s time to get out your baskets and bonnets. Easter is almost upon us and that means Easter egg hunts, visits with the Easter Bunny, and more spring-oriented activities here in central Pa.

Cumberland County
The New Kingston Fire Company will host a Scrambled Egg Hunt at 11 a.m. March 25 at 277 N. Locust Point Road, New Kingstown. There will be prizes, a bake sale, a visit from the Easter Bunny and more. Cost is $8 for ages 3-11 and $10 for ages 12 and up. Bake sale proceeds benefit the fire company.
Middlesex Township will hold an Egg Hunt at 10 a.m. April 1, rain or shine, at the Township Park, 50 Beagle Club Road. Children ages 1-10 are invited to search for treat-filled eggs. A few prize eggs will be scattered in the mix. Participants should bring their own basket. Contact info: 717-249-4409.
Trinity Lutheran Church will hold a Community Easter Egg Hunt starting at 4 p.m. April 1 rain or shine (it will be held indoors if the weather is bad) at 2000 Chestnut St., Camp Hill. Contact info: 717-737-9921, Ext. 228.
The Lemoyne Bunnyfest will be held from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. April 1 at Grace United Methodist Church, 309 Herman Ave., Lemoyne. Activities will include games, face painting, vendors, food trucks, and a visit with the Easter Bunny. Contact info: events@teambrandt.net.
The 10th Annual Downtown Carlisle Bunny Hop will take place from noon to 3 p.m. April 1 at various businesses in downtown Carlisle. There will be treats, games, crafts and more. Families are encouraged to dress in their “Sunday Best” to make the day more festive. Contact info: 717-243-1002.
Carlisle UMC will hold a Community Easter Egg Hunt from 10 a.m. to noon April 8 at 333 S. Spring Garden St., Carlisle. There will be crafts, games, snacks, and hunts for all ages. Registration is required by March 26.
The New Cumberland Easter Egg Hunt will take place from 11 a.m. to 2 p..m. April 8 at New Cumberland Borough Park, Front Street, New Cumberland. Hunts will be divided according to age groups. Select eggs will have prize tickets that can be redeemed for special baskets. There will also be food, games, activities raffles, and prizes.
Ashcombe Farm and Greenhouse, 906 W. Grantham Road, Mechanicsburg, will hold two Easter Egg Hunts at 10 and 11:30 a.m. April 8. Age groups are: 1-3; 4-5; and 6-8. The hunts include special eggs with prize tickets inside. The grand prize is a curated Easter basket. Free take-home crafts will also be available. The Deceptive Dreamz car club will host an Easter Egg Hunt from 9 a.m. to noon April 9 at Rippin’ Rides, 1537 Bridge St. New Cumberland. Coffee and donuts will be on hand.
Meadowbrooke Gourds Farm, 125 Potato Road, Carlisle, will hold its annual Egg Hunt at 11 a.m., 12:30 p.m., and 2 p.m. April 15. Each hunt will last one hour and be limited to 400 people. Cost is $5, which goes toward the Upper Frankford Fire Company. Canned and nonperishable food items will also be collected. A Spring Festival will also be held on the same day from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. The rain date is April 22. Contact info: 717-776-6029.
Dauphin County
An Indoor Easter Scavenger Hunt for kids 12 and under, will be held daily from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. until April 30 at the AACA Museum, 161 Museum Drive, Hershey. Participants can find Easter decals amid the museum’s exhibits and earn treats. Info: 717-566-7100.
Whitaker Center will hold a Bunny Trail event from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m. March 25 at 222 Market St., Harrisburg. This event includes springtime-themed craft stations, photos with the Easter Bunny, candy, and more. “It’s the Easter Beagle, Charlie Brown” will be playing in the Select Medical Digital Cinema at 9:40, 10:15, and 11 a.m. Tickets are for admission to the Bunny Trail only and do not include entry to the Harsco Science Center. All children under the age of 18 must be accompanied by an adult. Tickets are $5 per person (children ages 2 and younger are free).
The animal shelter group BunnyPeople will hold a free Bunny Palooza event from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. March 25 at Devonshire Church Community Center, 5630 Devonshire Road, Paxtonia. The event will include raffles and silent auction items, food, cookie decorating, and the chance to meet some adoptable rabbits. All proceeds from the event go towards the shelter. Lifepoint Church will hold an Easter Eggstravaganza from noon to 3:30 p.m. March 25 at 7733 Hillcrest Ave., Harrisburg. The event will include carnival games, food, and prize baskets. Contact info: nknowles@lifepointpa.org.
Harrisburg First Assembly of God will hold an Epic Easter Egg Hunt from 6-8 p.m. March 29 at 4100 N. Progress Ave., Harrisburg. Registration begins at 5:30 p.m. The event includes a puppet show, pictures with the Easter Bunny and more. Each child will receive a treat bag. Contact info: 717-657-2500.
The 10th annual Easter Extravaganza will be held from 1-4 p.m. April 1 at Steelton-Highspire High School, 250 Reynders St., Steelton. Sponsored by All You Can Inc., the event will include free food, live entertainment, an egg hunt, games, horse riding, and more. Each child registered will receive an Easter basket. Susquehanna Valley Church will hold an Easter Egg Hunt from 10 to 11:30 a.m. April 1 at 6433 Union Deposit Road, Harrisburg. The event will feature age-specific hunts, balloon animals, face painting, games, music, prizes, and more. Rain date is April 8. Contact info: 717 545-2188.
Word of Grace Ministries, located at 3814 N. Progress Ave., Susquehanna Twp., will hold a free Easter Egg Hunt at 11 a.m. April 1. The event will include games, food and music.
Ecumenical Retirement Community will host an Easter Egg Hunt event from 2 to 4 p.m. April 1 at 624 Wilhelm Road, Harrisburg. The event will also include face painting and refreshments. Contact info: 717-561—9982.

The Paxtang Lions Club will hold an Easter Egg Hunt at 10 a.m. April 1 at Saussaman Park, Simpson Road and Paxtang Avenue, Paxtang. The event will include a visit from the Easter Bunny. The rain date is April 8. Contact info: 717-991-4985.
A free Community Easter Egg Hunt, hosted by Unite Central Pa., will be held from noon to 5 p.m. April 1 at Sunshine Park in Harrisburg. The egg hunt will run from noon to 2 p.m. and there will then be a cookout from 3 to 5 p.m.
The Plainfield Lion’s Club will hold an Easter Egg Hunt at 9 a.m. April 1 at West Pennsboro Township Park, 30 Park Road.
The Englewood will hold a free Adult Easter Egg Hunt from noon until 4 p.m. April 2 at Englewood Brewing, 1219 West End Ave., Hummelstown. There will be beers, cocktails, food, a photo booth, and more. Contact info: 717-623-1888.
The Lower Swatara Lions Club Annual Easter Egg Hunt will be held for children 12 and under at 10 a.m. April 8 at the Lions Clubhouse, 2 Theodore Ave., Middletown. The Easter Bunny will be on hand to greet people and hand out gifts. Prize eggs will be given out in each age category.
The Vineyard at Hershey, 598 Schoolhouse Road, Middletown, will host Adult Egg Hunts from noon to 5 p.m. March 25-26 and April 1-2 and 8. Each guest will receive a pre-hunt mimosa and a gift bag that includes candy, a bottle of wine, and a VIP wine or beer tour for 2 (to be used at a later date). Tickets are $40 and must be purchased in advance.
Perry County
Butchers Farm Market’s Annual Easter Egg Hunt will be held from 9-11 a.m. April 8 at Butcher’s Farm Market, 590 N. Fourth Str., Newport. More than 4,000 eggs will be spread out over four acres, with a smaller area set aside for younger children. There will also be additional activities an hour before and after the hunt.
Marysville Bethany UMC will hold an Easter Egg Hunt from noon to 12:30 p.m. April 8 at 400 Lansvale St., Marysville. Contact info: 717-957-2030.
Lebanon County
A Community Easter Egg Hunt will be held from 9:30 a.m. to noon April 8 at Life Connection Church, 1384 Park Drive, Palmyra. Each child registered will be entered into a drawing for a chance to win a prize. Contact info: 717-641-3214.
Lancaster County
The Eggstra Special Needs Egg Hunt will be held rain or shine at 5:30 p.m. March 22 at Now I Can Pediatric Physical Therapy, 100 W. Millport Road, Lititz. The hunt will be divided into four designated areas: one for those with mobility issues; one for participants with visual impairment (using beeping eggs); a “quiet and calm” area; and a traditional group scramble. Author Sally McKinney will read from her new book, “Yes You Can!” The event is free but advance registration is required. Participants should bring their own baskets. Manheim Township will hold a free Easter Egg Hunt from 1-3 p.m. April 1 at the township’s athletic complex, 2883 Weaver Road, Lancaster. There will be games, crafts, face painting, DJ entertainment, free popcorn, and the chance to have your photo taken with the Easter Bunny.
An Eggstravaganza egg hunt will be held at 10 a.m. April 1 at the Elizabethtown Fairgrounds in Elizabethtown. Inflatables, games, food trucks, and the Easter Bunny will be on hand. An adult and senior egg hunt will also be held. Cost for the adult hunt is $5.
Breakfast with the Easter Bunny will be offered at 9, 9:45, and 10:30 a.m. April 1-2 and 7-8 at Country Barn, 211 S. Donerville Road, Lancaster. Tickets are $20 per person and include a photo with the Easter Bunny, a coloring contest, the chance to win door prizes and more.
Splish, Splash Easter Egg Bash is a pool-based egg hunt that will be held from 9, 9:25, 9:55, 10:25, 10:55 and 11:25 a.m. April 2 at Lampeter-Strasburg YMCA, 800 Village Road, Lancaster. Bring your own basket. Children under age 5 and non-swimmers need to have a parent in the water with them. Cost is $5 for nonmembers.
The Easter Bunny Hop Express train ride will take place at 9:30 a.m. April 7 and at 3 p.m. April 8 at The Star Barn at Stone Gable Estate, 1 Hollinger Lane, Elizabethtown. Visitors will ride on a replica of an 1868 steam locomotive, which will go through a fully decorated train shed filled with Easter characters and displays. Cost is $15. The Kiwanis Egg-Stravaganza Egg Hunt will be held from 10-11 a.m. April 8 at South Mountain YMCA, 201 Cushion Peak Road, Reinholds. The event will include a visit from the Easter Bunny. Kids can wear their silliest “Easter Bonnet” for a chance to win a prize.
Terre Hill Park, 210 Lancaster Ave., Terre Hill, will hold a Community Egg Hunt event, rain or shine, from noon to 2:30 p.m. April 8. The community hunt, for ages 10 and under, will feature face painting, a magic show and a visit from the Easter Bunny. Info: 717-445-4581.
Woodridge Swim Club, 50 W. Seventh St., Lititz, will hold a Community Easter Egg Hunt at 1 p.m. April 8 for ages 12 and under. There will be door prizes and a separate area for toddlers, as well as a chance to meet the Easter Bunny.
Kinsey’s Outdoors will host an Easter Bunny photo op from noon to 3 p.m. April 8 at 1658 Steel Way Drive, Mount Joy. The event is free for children of all ages.
The Easter Bunny Train will run at various times April 7-9 at Strasburg Railroad, 301 Gap Road, Ronks. Take a train ride through Lancaster County farmland with the Easter Bunny as your conductor. Ticket prices vary, check the website for details. Reservations are available online only. Info: 866-725-9666.
York County
Balla Cloiche Vineyards will hold an Adult Easter Egg Hunt from 2-6 p.m. April 1 at 14110 Clark Road, Stewartstown. Kimmy’s BBQ will be on hand serving food from 3-7 p.m. Terry Conners will provide music in the Event Room from 6-9 p.m. No pets or children are allowed.
A Doggie Egg Hunt, sponsored by Animal Rescue Inc., will be held from 10 a.m. to noon April 1 at Marge Goodfellow Park, New Freedom. Activities include photos with the Easter Bunny, a basket raffle, the chance to meet adoptable dogs, and more. A fundraising event will be held after from noon to 6 p.m. at Alecraft Brewery, Please do not bring dogs who might be food aggressive. No retractable leashes or dogs in heat allowed. Be prepared to clean up after your pet. Bring your own basket. Cost is $10 for per dog. Advance registration is required. Rain date is April 8.
York will hold its 48th annual Easter Egg Hunt for children ages 1-13 from 1-4 p.m. April 8 at Kiwanis Lake. The event will include a “Kid Zone,” Easter crafts, a coloring station, a DJ, and a bike raffle. Food will also be available for purchase. Contact info: 717-849-2276. (NOTE: This date has changed from April 1 due to rain.)
Moon Dancer Winery, 1282 Klines Run Road, Wrightsville, will hold a free Easter Egg Hunt for children and adults from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. April 1. Egg hunt times are 11:30 a.m. for children 4 and under, noon for children ages 5-11 and 12:30 for adults ages 21 and older. Contact info: 717-252-9463.
Northern Central Railway of York will hold Eggspecially Fun Bunny Runs at 10 a.m. and noon April 1-2 and 7-8. The hour-and-a-half train ride starts at 2 W. Main St., New Freedom, and goes through the Heritage Rail Trail County Park to Glen Rock. After returning to New Freedom, children can participate in an egg hunt (weather permitting), visit with the easter bunny for a photo, and receive a free treat bag. The My Kidz Easter Egg Hunt will be held from 1-2:30 p.m. April 8 at Cousler Park in Manchester Township (residents only). There will be candy and prizes. Please bring your own basket. Contact info: 917-499-2338.
Brookside Park’s Bunny Fest will be held from 1-5 p.m. April 8 at 4054 Fox Run Road, Dover. Bring your own basket. Activities include a petting zoo, face painting, caricatures, balloon animals, photos with the Easter Bunny and food trucks. A flashlight egg hunt for children ages 10-18 will be held at the park at 8:30 p.m. April 7. Pre-registration for either event is required. Cost is $5. Non-residents cannot register until April 1.
Flinchbaugh’s Orchard will hold an Easter Apple Hunt from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. on April 8 at 110 Ducktown Road, Hellam Twp. Activities include apple hunts, visits with the Easter Bunny, magic shows, wagon rides, face painting, and more. Timed hunts will start at the top of each hour. Tickets are $7.99 for children plus a handling fee. Rain date is April 15.
McCurdy’s Tree Farm and the VFW will hold an Easter Egg Hunt at 11 a.m. April 8 at 127 Chestnut Grove Road, Dillsburg.
