SMITHTOWN, NY — When times are tough, heroes emerge. We all know someone who's making a difference right now as we live through unprecedented and changing times.

Here at Patch, we've launched an initiative to help recognize these heroes making a difference in their communities. Together with Ring, we're working to let all your neighbors know about these outstanding people and their stories.

This submission comes from Juliann Raso of Anthony's Hope, who nominated Christine Fitzgerald, of Smithtown.

Name:

Christine Fitzgerald

State:

NY

Hometown:

Smithtown

Hero's job:

Volunteer

Relationship to nominee:

From the Smithown Children's Foundation

Reason for recognition:

Chris gives 150% of herself to help support families and organizations throughout our community!! Despite the risk of COVID, she still ran around and made sure families and our front-line workers got fed and sooo much more!!!

One thing to know:

That she truly does care about all those in need of any kind of support and will make sure they get it!!

Thank you for all you do, Christine!
